Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit, an Indian actor who has been known for her roles in Hum Aapke Hai Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most popular Indian actors. Her first fame was her role in Tezaab from the 1980s where she co-starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Her next appearance on screen was in Dil alongside Aamir. In her early years, the Mumbai-born dancer began learning at an early stage. She ventured into acting as an infant and was struggling through a couple of years since most of her initial films were flops. Then, she discovered success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the top. Following her marriage, she took some time away from performing until she returned. Recently, she was a key player in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times in the Filmfare Awards. She won eight of them. Dixit was also awarded the Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honour in India. She has also been recognized for her efforts in the social sector.
