Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was five, she moved to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing as well as dancing, and also acting. From the age of 10 she was involved as the lead in numerous Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 it set new records for its debut day opening and opening weekend takings. Reviewers were awed by the movie and its performances. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma received five nominations for her exceptional performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
